As we made progress toward finalizing the agenda for PressConf 2026, one thing kept resurfacing in our internal conversations.
There are important topics in the WordPress space that simply aren’t being discussed.
From day one, PressConf has been intentional about creating the space for thoughtful, honest discussions. It’s core to who we are, and it’s something people consistently appreciate about the event.
So now we decided to ask our community members to speak their voice. You are part of it and you most likely know the answer.
What is one topic that would actually move the WordPress economy forward, if more of us were willing to explore them openly?
If you’re unsure where to start, consider questions or themes that often remain below the surface:
- Topics quietly whispered at events but rarely said on stage
- Concerns emerging in DMs, group chats, or private agency channels
- Questions founders repeatedly ask during workshops
- Recurring operational, strategic, or cultural pain points across WordPress companies, etc.
Or maybe your idea has nothing to do with any of the above. If it’s important to you, it’s worth hearing.
This is an open invitation for anyone in the WordPress community who wants to contribute to the conversation.
Before You Submit Your Idea
A few things to keep in mind:
1. This is a shared, moderated space.
Our team will review all submissions and score them thoughtfully. Your idea will be read.
2. We follow the WordPress Code of Conduct.
If you’re not familiar with it, you can read it here:
https://make.wordpress.org/handbook/community-code-of-conduct/
3. We’re looking for ideas that meet our definition of relevance.
A compelling topic is one that:
- Represents a real pain, problem, or missed opportunity
- Could meaningfully improve WordPress or the ecosystem around it
- Reflects a specific challenge few people talk about publicly
- Is something you deeply care about—perhaps more than most
in the community
If that sounds like your idea, we’d love to hear it.
How to Participate
Submit your idea using our form below. The submission form will remain open until January 1, 2025.
Our team will take five days to review everything we receive.
In mid-January, we’ll host a live meetup to discuss a selection of these ideas—without sharing any names. Community members and PressConf team members will explore the themes together.
We will pre-filter ideas based on the criteria above. From that shortlist, we will randomly draw one winning idea, and the person who submitted it will receive a free ticket to PressConf 2026. The winner will be notified privately.
Our form is now closed.
If you’d like to hear how some of the strongest submissions were debated, you can watch the full live conversation featuring Matt Medeiros, Raquel Marínquez, and Emma Young.
The discussion goes beyond the winning topic and explores what these submissions reveal about the current state of the WordPress ecosystem. Last but not least, by watching the interview you can also find out which idea ultimately received the PressConf 2026 ticket.
